12 MONTH OLD FAVORITE TOYS
As a first time mom I am never really sure what’s worth buying or if pieces that cost more are truly worth the investment. So when it came to Brooks’ first birthday I wasn’t really sure what to buy him. He ended up getting some amazing things for this birthday, some I found and some came from friends and family. I wanted to share his favorite gifts he got that he plays with daily since he got them. These would all make for great gifts (birthday, Christmas, etc) for anyone else who is a little unsure what their one year old may like.
First up, he got a few wooden puzzles. He loves them all, but he plays with the velcro fruit one NONSTOP! This particular one I found at Marshalls and I am unable to find the exact one online, but will link similar options. These are such a simple and affordable gift that my one year old loves.
Next, the brand HOUSE OF NOA gifted me this tumbling mat and we use this all day every day. It was an item I looked at often wondering if it was worth the price and in my opinion I definitely think it is! I have the 4x6 size but it also comes in a 5x7. The quality is so amazing, you can use it in many different ways (folded up, tunnels, all the way folded out, etc). I honestly wish I would have had it from newborn on, it would have been great to use for tummy time and place for Brooks to play on before he started crawling. I do have discount code if you shop and find something you love from HOUSE OF NOA - EMLIYTERRYJOHNSON will save you some $$$!
Next, I love the brand GATHRE so much. All of their pieces are stunning and the quality is amazing. Brooks was gifted the ball pit from his grammy & poppy and the trampoline from one of his aunt & uncle. The ball pit is so great because the sides are flexible / foldable so it makes it easy for Brooks to climb in and out of. It is important to note that the ball pit does not come with balls… and the balls can be quite expensive surprisingly. The trampoline is for ages 3+, but Brooks LOVES to crawl on and off of it. He has started to figure out just recently that he can bounce on it. So even though the trampoline is for a little bit older I think this a great gift option for someone because it will grow with them and it might be something a parent doesn’t want to buy right now. 10/10 reccomend anything from GATHRE.
Next up, he absolutely loves this little scooter thing. He pushes it around non stop inside and outside. He thinks its hilarious when we push him on it as well. But his granny & grandpee go it for him and its definitely something I wouldn’t have thought to get him yet he loves it so much. He also got a retrospec bike. He hasn’t quite figured out how to ride it yet but once he does I know he’ll love it.
Lastly, he got a lot of fun busy boards / books. These are such an affordable gift option that are sure to be entertaining and loved. I love to take these with us when we go out to eat or they keep him entertained in the car on longer car rides. Highly recommend getting some of these if you have no idea what to get for a one year old.
Those are our top favorites and ones we use non stop every day. I hope these were helpful ideas if you’re unsure what your one year old may like or what to buy for a one year old’s first birthday.
